NRA Launches TV Ad Buy in North Carolina Senate Race

FAIRFAX, Va.— The National Rifle Association's Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) this week launched an ad campaign in North Carolina aimed at defeating Deborah Ross in her bid for the U.S. Senate. The seven-figure buy will run on both broadcast and cable television in the Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro and Wilmington media markets.

"Deborah Ross voted against personal liberty and the right to self-defense in the state legislature," said Chris W. Cox, chairman of the NRA-PVF. "Deborah Ross would push former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's gun control agenda in the U.S. Senate, undermining law-abiding North Carolinians' fundamental right to self-defense. The NRA is urging our members and supporters in North Carolina to defend freedom. Defeat Deborah Ross."

Ad Transcript:

Announcer: "Deborah Ross sure is smooth. She promises:"

Deborah Ross: "Individual freedom... equal opportunity... personal liberty."

Announcer: "But as a legislator, Ross voted against personal liberty. Ross voted for gun control. Ross opposed your right to self-defense. The press said Ross voted against almost all legislation on firearms."

Deborah Ross:
"Individual freedom"

Announcer:
"That's what she says, but that's not how she votes. Defend freedom. Defeat Deborah Ross."
